Delete your account and data
Last updated
This page explains how to delete your Invoicevisor account and data. Invoicevisor is operated by Codevisor LLC. These steps apply to the Invoicevisor web app at app.invoicevisor.com and the Invoicevisor apps for Android and iOS.
1. Delete your workspace (administrators)
An Invoicevisor account is a workspace: your business, its users, and everything created in it. An administrator deletes the workspace, and with it every user account and record in it.
- Sign in as an administrator, on the web at app.invoicevisor.com or in the Invoicevisor app.
- Go to Settings › Security.
- On the web, under Deactivate workspace, select Deactivate. In the app, select Delete workspace and data.
- Confirm with the one-time code we send you, or the code from your authenticator app.
What happens next:
- Everyone in the workspace is signed out immediately, and nobody can sign in.
- A paid subscription is cancelled at the end of the current billing period. You are not charged again.
- For 90 days you can change your mind: sign in and reactivate to restore everything.
- After 90 days the workspace and all of its data are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.
2. Delete your own account (team members)
If you were invited into someone else’s workspace, ask us to delete your account:
- In the app: go to Settings › Security and select Request account deletion. This opens an email to us, already addressed.
- Or by email: write to privacy@invoicevisor.com from the email address you sign in with, with the subject “Delete my account”.
We verify the request, usually by confirming you control that address, and delete your account within 30 days.
Records you created stay in the workspace, because they belong to the business, not to you. In the workspace’s audit trail, your actions are kept with the workspace until the workspace itself is deleted.
3. Delete some of your data, but keep your account
- Records: delete individual clients, invoices, estimates, expenses, receipts, trips and other records directly in the app. Some records are removed at once. Others stay hidden in our database until the workspace is deleted, and are then deleted with it.
- Anything else: email privacy@invoicevisor.com and tell us what you want deleted. We respond within 30 days.
4. What is deleted, and what we keep
When a workspace is permanently deleted, we delete:
- user accounts, names, email addresses, phone numbers, and sign-in and security data such as passkeys, two-step verification and trusted devices
- the business profile, logo and settings
- clients, invoices, estimates, payments, expenses, receipt images, mileage trips and locations, appointments, and every other record created in the workspace
- subscription billing records, the audit trail, and records of agreement to our terms
Some copies remain for a limited time:
| Data | Kept for |
|---|---|
| Encrypted database backups | Up to 14 days, then they expire |
| Previous versions of uploaded files | Up to 30 days |
| Application, security and access logs | 30 to 90 days, depending on the log |
| Email correspondence with our support team | Up to 24 months from the last contact |
| Your email address on our “do not contact” list, if you unsubscribed from marketing | Indefinitely, so we never contact you again |
Stripe keeps its own records of subscription payments, and of payments made through a connected Stripe account, under its privacy policy. Stripe is the controller of those records, so we cannot delete them.
We may also keep information for longer where the law requires it, or to establish or defend a legal claim.
5. Accounts that were never verified
If you signed up but never verified your email address, the account is deleted automatically 30 days after sign-up. You don’t need to do anything.
6. If you received an invoice from a business
If a business sent you an invoice or estimate through Invoicevisor, your information belongs to that business. Please contact the business directly. If you write to us, we will refer you to the business where we can identify it.
More about how we handle your information is in our Privacy Policy. Questions: privacy@invoicevisor.com.
